SERVICES

INTERNET/ PUBLIC WIFI

Patrons are welcome to bring their own device and use our WIFI while abiding by the library's policy on acceptable use. USB-enabled outlets are available around the perimeter of the library near the quiet study nooks.

All 12 computer stations are open and no appointment is required. Sessions last 2 hours. Stations shut down 15 minutes before closing.

In compliance with FCC law, the library filters all internet traffic, but is not responsible for the content accessed.

PRINT/COPY/FAX

Prints/Copies are:

  • 10¢ for black and white letter and legal size 

  • 25¢ for color letter and legal

  • 20¢ for black and white 11×17

  • 50¢ for color 11×17

 

Faxes may be sent for a cost of $1.00 for the first page and 50¢ for each additional page (sent or received).

Our copier also has scanning capabilities, which are free.

Printing from a mobile device is available through the app Princh. Instructions can be found at the front desk.

NOTARY

Please make sure your documents are fully filled out but NOT signed prior to arrival. If witnesses are needed, patrons are to bring their own. Library staff or patrons will not be solicited to act as witnesses. Please bring your current, government-issued photo ID that includes your signature to your appointment.

NOTE! The notary will NOT sign or witness any documents associated with the "sovereign citizenship" movement, and can decline to sign any documents without further explanation.

TAX FORMS

During tax season, paper forms are usually available in the library, and are limited to what is provided by the IRS. Additional forms can be printed by patrons at the computer stations. Printing fees apply.

The library does not host AARP tax preparation appointments.

MEETING ROOM

The large meeting room will accommodate up to 100 people. Users will be subject to meeting room policy. To reserve the room please contact the Library Director.

ACCESSIBILITY

A curb ramp is found at the library entrance. There are automatic door openers on both outgoing and incoming sides. All areas of the collections and meeting room are on one level, and the checkout desk features a lower counter area for checkouts. Staff are happy to assist patrons with reaching items.

 

A manual wheelchair and a walker are available for use in the library upon request. Infant-sized changing tables are available in both women's and men's restrooms.  The children's restroom has a low, child-sized toilet.

Accessibility statements for products offered through the library website and the library website itself are available. Peoria Heights Public Library is committed to making our website accessible to everyone. We are actively working to meet WCAG 2.1 standards and are continuously improving our site. The Illinois Talking Book Center provides free library service for anyone unable to read regular print because of low vision, blindness, or another type of print handicap. They provide books and playback equipment. Books are mailed free to and from library patrons, wherever they reside. There is no charge, whatsoever, to the patron.
